Use this service to register as a carer so that we can make sure you get information, services and the help that is available.
You can use this service if you:
- are registered at the surgery
- are a carer
Does a family member or friend depend on you to help with the tasks and/or responsibilities of everyday life?
If you are a carer you may need some support yourself. We hold a carers register. We can offer you support.
- A carer can be any age.
- A carer is someone who cares for another person without financial gain.
- A carer could be related to the person they care for, but might not be.
- A carer supports another person in ways that if they did not, the person would not cope with everyday life.
A person might need a carer to support them because of an illness, a disability, a mental health problem or an addiction. Telling your GP you are a carer can help them to support you.
Being recorded as a person’s carer does not automatically mean you can gain access to their medical records or speak to the Health Centre on their behalf. Signed consent from the patient authorising this privilege would need to be provided to us.
- Download our “I am a carer” leaflet for more information.
