Each World Diabetes Day focuses on a theme related to diabetes, and 2018 is “The Family and Diabetes”. The aim to raise awareness of the impact that diabetes has on the family and support network of those affected and to promote the role of the family in the management, care, prevention and education of diabetes.
School children, people with diabetes, university staff and members of the public are invited to make a blue circle around the fountain outside the old main entrance of the Radcliffe Infirmary (now the University of Oxford Primary Care building) at 11am on Wednesday 14th November – this will be followed by an information event about diabetes and local diabetes research in the adjacent St Luke’s Chapel.
Wear royal blue if you can, but you will be given something to hold to help make the circle look blue from above for filming.
If diabetes has affected your family and you would like to share your experiences for the event please contact Marco Pontecorvi on firstname.lastname@example.org
