Flu advice for patients aged 65 and over
You may already be aware either from reading in the press or from our previous communication with you, that there have been delivery restrictions related to the new Trivalent flu vaccine, the recommended flu vaccine for patients aged 65 and over. The restrictions that have affected us particularly have been the delay in delivery and the control by the manufacturers over the number of vaccines we can receive in one delivery.
We have vaccinated 1689 patients aged 65 and over so far this season.
We currently have a low supply of the Trivalent vaccine.
We are scheduled to receive a delivery of 1500 of the vaccine on Thursday 15th November.
We are holding a Saturday open flu clinic on
Saturday 17th November
08.30 – 11.30
If you would like to have your vaccine before Saturday 17th, we advise you to speak to one of our Care navigators at reception in the first instance for a real time update about stock levels or alternatively visit your local community pharmacy that may have a supply.
If you are aged under 65 and eligible for your free flu vaccine, we have plenty of the Quadrivalent vaccine which is the recommended vaccine for your age group. Please attend the Saturday 17th November open flu clinic if you wish to. Otherwise please speak with our Care Navigators at reception who will be able to advise you of your options.
