We are very sorry to anyone that was affected when the internet connection to CNHC went down on Friday 11/11 which resulted in all systems used for service provision being unusable. When an incident such as this happens, it is clinically unsafe for our healthcare professionals to continue to work as they do not have all the information needed to make decisions about care. They cannot see records, there is no way to issue prescriptions and there is no access at all to the appointment booking system.
In these situations, the only thing to do is signpost patients to a service that can support them safely, such as the 111 service. When CNHC signposts patients to the 111 service during opening hours it is because clinical safety is our priority and it is absolutely the last resort.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused.
