Eligibility criteria for free flu vaccinations

Eligibility criteria for free flu vaccinations;

You are eligible for a free flu vaccination if;

  • you suffer from a long term chronic illness like diabetes, asthma, heart disease, kidney disease, or
  • you have had a stroke or have some other neurological illness, or
  • you have a suppressed immune system, or
  • you are the main carer for anyone suffering with any of the above, or
  • you are aged 65 or over, or
  • you are pregnant, or
  • you have a BMI of 40 or over
  • you are a health care worker (you may be asked to qualify your health care worker status)

*Children aged two and three (those born between September 1st 2014 and 31st August 2016) are eligible for the nasal flu vaccination at the health centre. Those aged four or older (after 31st August) will have the opportunity to have the vaccine at school.
