When you have your contraceptive coil or implant fitted you should be given information about when the contraceptive effectiveness of the device will expire. Chipping Norton Health Centre does not have a system for automatically reminding you when this will be, it is a patient responsibility. If you are not sure about the expiry date you can speak to a care navigator as the information will be on your patient record.
Please do not leave it too late to book your appointment. Due to balancing the demand for coils and implants with the needs of all of our patients we have a waiting list for these procedures. One of the care navigators manages this waiting list.
If we can’t fit you in before the expiry date then speak to a clinician so that we can discuss alternative contraception for your protection while you wait.
You can also contact https://www.sexualhealthoxfordshire.nhs.uk/contraception/ for an appointment with them.
