Flu eligibility criteria 2022/23
The criteria for vaccination this year is as follows
- those aged 6 months to 64 years in clinical risk groups
- those aged 65 years and over
- those aged 50 to 64 years old not in clinical risk groups (including those who turn 50 by 31 March 2023) – advice from the government is to vaccinate this additional cohort no sooner than the 15th October 2022.
- pregnant women
- those in long-stay residential care homes
- carers
- close contacts of immunocompromised individuals
- frontline staff employed by the following types of social care providers without employer led occupational health schemes:
- a registered residential care or nursing home
- registered domiciliary care provider
- a voluntary managed hospice provider
- Direct Payment (personal budgets) or Personal Health Budgets, such as Personal Assistants
- all children aged 2 or 3 years on 31 August 2022
We will be inviting all of our clinically eligible patients first and we will invite those aged 50-64 years old with no underlying clinical issues once we are satisfied that all clinically eligible patients have been invited and been given opportunity to attend, as per national guidance.
