Stress Management and Mindfulness
Mindfulness for Stress
Mindfulness practises help to reduce stressful thoughts by bringing awareness into the present moment, paying attention to breathing, sensations in the body, sounds and our 5 senses. This stops the mind from wandering and helps us respond more calming and compassionately to life’s experiences rather than to react fearfully or angrily towards them. Mindfulness helps us build resilience and enables us to live a happier and healthier life into the future.
Mindfulness for Stress 8 week courses are running at The Chipping Norton Health Centre (currently on-line due to Covid 19).
Mindfulness for Stress One to One sessions are currently on-line.
Yoga Therapy is not like a yoga class. It is well recognised from scientific medical research, as an effective therapeutic intervention to relieve physical and mental stress that is often the root cause of ill health. If stress is not addressed, the mind and body remain under tension, suppressing the natural function of organs and bodily systems. Corrective breathing practises, deep relaxations, postural alignments and gentle mindful movements are used to rebalance the mind and body back towards health. Yoga Therapy compliments treatments and is used as a recovery aid during rehabilitation from chronic physical and mental illness.
