Secondary care blood tests requested by a hospital clinic
If your hospital clinic or consultant requests for you to have blood tests taken, you will need to bring a ‘blood card’ with you to your appointment in order for our nursing team to be able to identify the blood tests required.
This blood card allows us to request the blood tests through our clinical system and will allow the nurse taking the bloods to make sure the results of your blood tests are returned to the requesting clinic or consultant.
We will not book a blood test for you of this nature if you do not have the ‘blood card’ to bring to your appointment.
Any blood tests taken within the Health Centre on behalf of secondary care remain the responsibility of the secondary care. The clinic or consultant are under contract to deliver your results back to you, so please call your clinic or consultant for your results, do not contact the Health Centre.
Thank you
